FIRE BLESSING

An ancient Prayer... 40,000 years old...
Handed down through the Aboriginal culture and translated into the English language.

May the fire be in our thoughts
Making them true, good and just,
May it protect us from the evil one.

May the fire be in our eyes;
May it open our eyes to share what is good in life.
We ask that the fire may protect us from what
Is not rightfully ours.

May the fire be on our lips, so that we may
Speak the truth in kindness; that we may serve
And encourage others.
May it protect us from speaking evil.

May the fire be in our ears.
We pray that we may hear with a deep, deep listening
So that we may hear the flow of water, and of all
Creation.
And the dreaming.
May we be protected from gossip and from things
That harm and break down our family.

May the fire be in our arms and hands
So that we may be of service and build up love.
May the fire protect us from all violence.

May the fire be in our whole being -
In our legs and in our feet,
Enable us to walk the earth
With reverence and care;
So that we may walk in the ways of goodness and truth
And be protected from walking away from what is truth.

Beloved Mother Father God/Allah/Brahma/Darmakaya/THE I AMTHAT I AM,
We call upon the Council for African Affairs.
This week we ask for a favor regarding the Khoisan, the indigenous people of Southern Africa.
There is a  group in Botswana who need help to relocate and be allowed to have access to basic necessities, like water.
We ask for a way to be opened for them to inhabit their traditional lands, livein harmony with the environment and be constructive in the well being of Botswana.

Amen.

Some background info.

The Botswana High Court (21st of July 2010) said the Bushmen people
were not entitled to use a well already established on their
traditional land in the Kalahari Game Reserve or excavate a new one. In
2006, another court allowed the Bushmen to return to desert-like
homelands where diamond mining claims and a new luxury tourist lodge
led to their eviction by the government. Hundreds returned and their
leaders are protesting that they were denied water to drive them away
again.

As you know indigenous people from all around the world have been or
are being wiped out, all too often by greed and for other misguided
reasons. I think we could get a positive result on this one by sending a letter
with a thousand signatures to the President of Botswana, asking him
to find a solution that is beneficial to all parties. Tourists from
around the world enjoy the wildlife in Botswana and this is good and
right but not at the expense of a defenceless and spiritual culture who
have in depth knowledge of communing nature and have been there for
millennia.

Desmond Tutu has made a video clip supporting the Khoisan.

Botswana has a capable and active government. They have set an example in Africa and have a good record of tackling HIV/aids.
